An incoherent ramble by Meryl Streep at the Golden Globe Awards has got the President-Elect’s attention. Accepting an award Sunday night, the legendary actress railed against Trump and called on the press to hold him accountable. She said the president-elect “broke her heart” when he mocked Serge Kovaleski, the reporter who has a congenital joint condition.
It went downhill from there. Trump neither watched nor saw Streep’s speech, but told the New York Times he wasn’t surprised. He said Streep was a “Hillary lover” and one of the “liberal movie people.” Later, in a series of tweets, he said Streep was “overrated.”
