…New York City in November or December of 1995. The photos appeared in the French magazine Max. The Washington Post says “only Melania Trump can explain the discrepancy.” So really, 1-2 months are in question here.
But here’s the thing. Marc Dolisi, chief editor of Max, and Jarl Ale de Basseville, the photographer of that particular shoot, said Melania was a relatively unknown model at the time of the shoot and wasn’t compensated, which means “she could have been here legally on a visitor’s visa.”
Mystery solved. Wait. Just kidding.
Immigration lawyer Michael Wildes, who worked for the Trump Organization, claimed that Melania obtained a green card in 2001 “based on marriage.” She didn’t marry Donald until 2005.
“Ms. Trump received citizenship in 2006 and prior to that she had a green card based on marriage,” Wildes told Univision. “Before that, she had a work visa and was in full compliance on her visas and never disrespected any of them. That has been made clear to me.”
The Trump campaign came out and said, “Melania was not married prior to her marriage to Mr. Trump in 2005.”
Melania took to Facebook to respond to the various reports.
See? Liberal journalists ARE capable of digging into things! They’re just EXTREMELY selective about who they go after.
