The legacy of Cuban communism is one of extraordinary cruelty, privation and exploitation. The impoverishment and oppression of the Cuban people has been a stain on our collective humanity for over 60 years.
The vicious and heartless dictator Castro has shown the world the horror of the ideology of socialism taken to its natural conclusion, where the only equality is found in misery while a privileged few live as kings on the backs of the suffering of their people.
President-Elect Donald Trump clearly knows this, as reflected in the powerful statement he issued today upon the death of Fidel Castro, a horrible tyrant who murdered gays, black and any that dared question his right to rule with an iron fist and disregard for the people that his “revolution” was supposed to free.
Business Insider has the quote…
“Fidel Castro’s legacy is one of firing squads, theft, unimaginable suffering, poverty and the denial of fundamental human rights,” Trump said in the statement.
He added: “While Cuba remains a totalitarian island, it is my hope that today marks a move away from the horrors endured for too long, and toward a future in which the wonderful Cuban people finally live in the freedom they so richly deserve.”
Well said Mr. President-Elect. Every time you see some idiot leftist in a Che Guevara or Fidel Castro shirt, let’s remind them that these men lined up men, women and even children against walls and shot them for being black, gay or liberal. The cruel irony and the misguided idealism of the modern left empowers evil, plain and simple.
I am proud to finally have a president that recognizes this obvious truth as well as the inalienable rights of every Cuban to enjoy the blessings of liberty.
